Suan Dusit University recognizes that the quality of life of its staff is a fundamental foundation for fostering a happy and sustainable university community. Therefore, the University has developed and provided residential accommodation in Bangkok, as well as in its campuses and education centers, to support personnel who wish to reside on-site, especially those with regular work commitments in the area.
The University’s staff housing is designed and managed to ensure a safe and supportive living environment, with essential facilities and amenities readily available. Its locations are situated in close proximity to workplaces, helping to reduce commuting expenses and promoting a healthy balance between work and personal life for staff members.
To ensure that staff members can reside in a high-quality living environment, the University allocates residential buildings and accommodation units across several locations—both within the main Dusit campus and at various campuses and education centers. All housing facilities are managed in accordance with safety standards and quality building management practices, aligned with Suan Dusit University’s principles of sustainable development. https://tcas.dusit.ac.th/dormitory/
Bangkok Area
Within Bangkok (the main Dusit Campus), Suan Dusit University provides residential buildings for staff whose duties require them to be present on campus at all times, including after office hours, on weekends, and on public holidays. Most of these staff members serve under the Office of Buildings and Facilities, as well as other units with similar operational responsibilities. Residence in these buildings is provided free of charge, with the exception of water and electricity fees based on actual usage. The accommodations are located within or adjacent to the relevant work units, enabling rapid and continuous response in urgent situations.
For staff who need temporary accommodation within the Dusit campus due to assigned tasks or duties that require their presence, the University provides access to “Pojaman Building”. Permission to reside in this facility is granted as needed, and no accommodation fees are charged.

Sirinthorn Road Science Center Area (Bang Phlat District)
At the Science Center on Sirinthorn Road (Bang Phlat District), the University provides accommodation for staff who work regularly in facility maintenance and security, under the supervision of the Office of Science Building Services. In addition, the University has allocated nearby residential units to support personnel whose work requires irregular or flexible hours, allowing them to reside comfortably at a reasonable service rate.
This area also serves as a teaching and learning site for the Faculty of Nursing, where students undertake clinical training at hospitals according to varying schedules and responsibilities. Therefore, it is essential for faculty members and staff to be present on-site to supervise, support, and provide close guidance. These accommodations are managed under the housing administration system of the Office of Science Building Services.
Suphanburi Campus
At the Suphanburi Campus, the University provides on-campus residential facilities to support staff members who work regularly or periodically, particularly those who do not have permanent housing in the nearby area. This housing initiative is offered as a staff welfare programme at affordable rates, with both monthly (THB 2,000–3,500 per month) and daily (THB 300 per person per night) accommodation options available. Breakfast is also provided at a modest cost for staff who wish to use the service. This initiative is designed to enhance the well-being, comfort, and overall quality of life of university personnel in a sustainable manner.

Nakhon Nayok Education Center
At the Nakhon Nayok Education Center, residential facilities are provided for staff who require temporary accommodation while carrying out their duties in the area. This arrangement ensures convenience in work operations and supports the well-being of personnel during their assignments. In addition, the Center also operates student dormitories located near the main campus facilities, which are likewise available for staff members to use when needed.

Trang Education Center
At the Trang Education Center, dormitory facilities are managed directly by the Center to provide affordable accommodation for both students and university personnel. Dedicated residential zones are allocated separately for male and female staff members, with comprehensive amenities provided within the same building, including a dining area, laundry room, and recreation space. The facility is equipped with security systems such as CCTV surveillance and 24-hour staff supervision, ensuring a safe and comfortable living environment that supports both daily life and work responsibilities for personnel assigned to the area. http://www.dusittrang.com/dorm/

Suan Dusit University ensures that all staff housing facilities are maintained to high standards of safety, cleanliness, and orderliness. Regular maintenance and inspections are conducted on building structures, electrical and water systems, and essential amenities. The University also implements energy-saving measures and efficient water use practices in support of its Green & Clean University policy.
All residential areas are promoted as “Sustainable Living Communities,” fostering a shared environment based on mutual respect, equity, harmony, and collective responsibility. Residents are required to follow established regulations to maintain peace, safety, and environmental quality—for example, the prohibition of hazardous items and illegal substances, the maintenance of cleanliness, and active participation in building stewardship alongside the residence management committee.
These policies and practices reflect Suan Dusit University’s commitment to providing secure, environmentally responsible, and well-managed housing that enhances staff well-being and promotes a healthy balance between work and personal life.
Promoting Housing Security through Financial Welfare Support for Staff
Suan Dusit University also promotes housing security through indirect financial welfare mechanisms, administered via the University Employee Welfare and Benefits Fund and the Suan Dusit University Savings Cooperative. These schemes enable staff members to access low-interest loans for housing-related purposes, including acquiring a residence, undertaking repairs, or improving their living environment. In addition, emergency loan programs and cost-of-living support benefits help alleviate monthly financial burdens.
These measures ensure that all staff—whether residing on campus or off campus—have equitable access to stable and secure housing. They also contribute to strengthening economic well-being and overall quality of life, reflecting the University’s people-centered management approach that prioritizes the “well-being and happiness of the Suan Dusit community.”

Key agenda items included the consideration and approval of the annual budget, as well as the review of loan operations related to personal consumption and housing acquisition. These measures are intended to provide staff members with accessible options for obtaining secure housing at low interest rates.

On 21 August 2024, the Board of the Suan Dusit University Savings Cooperative convened Meeting No. 9/2024. On 25 November 2024, the Employee Welfare and Benefits Fund Committee held Meeting No. 2/2025. Through these initiatives, Suan Dusit University demonstrates a strong commitment to comprehensive staff support—from providing safe and functional on-campus housing to establishing financial welfare systems that help reduce living expenses and promote long-term housing security. This support is delivered through mechanisms such as the University Savings Cooperative and the Employee Welfare Fund, as well as through the management of residential facilities across all campuses and education centers in accordance with the Green & Clean University policy, which emphasizes environmental responsibility and the well-being of residents.
Moreover, the University continues to preserve and cultivate the “Suan Dusit Culture” in all dimensions of living and working, grounded in the principles of “coexistence with respect, equality, compassion, and collective responsibility.” This reflects the warm and supportive identity of the Suan Dusit community. Living on campus is therefore not merely a matter of accommodation, but an experience of “a second home”—a space enriched with cultural values, human connections, and emotional well-being.
This approach serves as a model of how a higher education institution can promote secure, safe, and sustainable housing for its staff, rooted in a caring institutional culture. It aligns directly with Sustainable Development Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, particularly SDG 11.4.4 – Affordable housing for employees.
