Suan Dusit University (SDU) is dedicated to advancing the concept of a “University for a Sustainable Society” by emphasizing the provision of healthy, safe, and affordable food choices to enhance the well-being of its students, staff, and surrounding communities. This initiative aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 2 (SDG 2: Zero Hunger), which promotes access to nutritious and sustainable food for all. In 2024, the university implemented several key initiatives that demonstrate its strong commitment to building an inclusive and health-oriented food environment. These initiatives integrate quality, safety, and equitable access across all campus food services.
Upgrading Food Management Standards: Dusit Kitchen and Suan Dusit Place Hotel Achieve ISO 9001
SDU enhanced its Lunch Project 1 (Dusit Kitchen) and hotel operations to meet ISO 9001 international quality standards, ensuring excellence in food production and service management. The process covered all stages—from sourcing raw materials and food preparation to service delivery and quality control—prioritizing safe ingredients, waste reduction, and consumer health. This achievement reflects not only environmental responsibility but also SDU’s dedication to maintaining internationally recognized standards of food safety and quality.
