Suan Dusit University recognizes the importance of water resource management in alignment with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6 ensuring the availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all. In promoting conscious water utilization across its campuses and education centers, the University has implemented concrete initiatives encompassing all dimensions of sustainable water management.
Operational Activities for Standardized Water Management
Suan Dusit University, through the Environmental Center, has initiated a major project entitled “Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) Management Standards and Operational Risk Management Plan” for the year 2024. This initiative demonstrates the University’s firm commitment to systematic and sustainable resource management.
The project extends beyond a single campus, encompassing multiple key operational sites, including Suphan Buri Campus, Lampang Education Center, Nakhon Nayok Education Center, Hua Hin Education Center, and Trang Education Center.
The operational activities specifically related to water management within the University encompass three core systems, representing comprehensive, end-to-end water management:
- Management of domestic and drinking water quality
- Management of swimming pool water quality
- Management of wastewater treatment systems
Monitoring and Surveillance to Ensure Water Quality (Active Monitoring)
To ensure that all water management systems operate efficiently and sustainably, Suan Dusit University conducts regular inspections and maintenance across all three aforementioned systems. At the heart of the University’s commitment to promoting conscious water use and environmental responsibility lies a strong emphasis on water quality monitoring. The University routinely collects and analyzes water samples of all types in certified laboratories as part of a proactive approach to guarantee compliance with legal standards. This analytical process serves as tangible evidence of the University’s dedication to safety and environmental management excellence.

Water Conservation and Improvement Planning (Promoting Conscious Usage)
In addition to managing water quality and wastewater treatment, Suan Dusit University places strong emphasis on promoting efficient and responsible water use through strategic planning and collaborative engagement. A key activity directly supporting the criterion of promoting conscious water usage on campus is the regular consultation and meeting sessions on water conservation strategies. These meetings serve as a crucial mechanism for raising awareness and establishing clear directions among university staff and students toward sustainable water stewardship.

The outcomes of these management initiatives and meetings have led to the continuous improvement of the University’s water quality management systems. This demonstrates that Suan Dusit University not only manages water responsibly but is also committed to ongoing enhancement for sustainability and to promoting water conservation at all levels across its campuses.
