Suan Dusit University (SDU) is a higher education institution committed to creating a family-friendly and gender-equal environment that supports both staff and students. The university prioritizes welfare, well-being, and gender equality for employees, faculty, and student mothers under its vision of a “Happy and Equal University.”

To promote work–life and study–family balance, SDU has established Childcare and Breastfeeding Facilities on campus, enabling staff and students with young children to work or study without giving up family responsibilities. In 2024, SDU launched Breastfeeding Rooms and Baby Changing Areas in central buildings, offering free access for all staff, faculty, and student mothers.
The initiative is managed by the Faculty of Nursing, which provides health education, counseling, and workshops on maternal and child well-being, such as proper breastfeeding practices, postpartum mental health, and infant care training. Nursing lecturers and students continuously support this initiative through academic and community-based activities.

SDU also encourages student mothers to continue their education by providing flexible learning schedules and access to childcare facilities, helping them overcome barriers to attending classes. This policy reflects SDU’s dedication to inclusivity, equal opportunity, and lifelong learning.
This initiative strongly supports SDG 5: Gender Equality and SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, promoting dignity, equality, and a supportive environment for all.
