Suan Dusit University (SDU) is a higher education institution deeply committed to building an organization rooted in fairness, transparency, and respect for human dignity. Guided by the principle of “Transparency, Safety, and Fairness,” SDU strives to ensure that every member of the university community is treated equally, without discrimination, and has equitable access to justice within the institution.
To guarantee fairness in personnel management, the university has established clear mechanisms and policies for protecting staff rights, particularly in the areas of appeals and grievances—which serve as key instruments of good governance in human resource administration. These mechanisms are defined in two principal legal documents:
- Regulations of Suan Dusit University on Personnel Administration, B.E. 2564 (2021) – Chapter 11: Appeals and Grievances📄 View the full document (Office of Legal Affairs, SDU)
- Regulations of Suan Dusit University on Appeals and Consideration of Appeals, B.E. 2561 (2018)📄 Read the complete regulation here
These regulations ensure that every staff member can file complaints or appeals when they believe they have been treated unfairly. The Appeals and Grievance Committee on Personnel Administration is tasked with reviewing such cases in an impartial, transparent, and professional manner—safeguarding the rights of complainants from retaliation, bias, or professional disadvantage.
The university also places strong emphasis on confidentiality and ethical data handling, ensuring that complainants’ personal information is strictly protected. This helps foster a sense of trust and confidence among employees that exercising their rights will not lead to adverse consequences in their careers.
In 2021, Suan Dusit University conducted a comprehensive review and revision of its personnel regulations to align with the principles of good governance, the guidelines of the Office of the Higher Education Commission (OHEC), and international human rights standards. The revised framework underscores the prevention of all forms of discrimination—whether based on gender, race, religion, disability, or social status—thereby elevating SDU’s human resource policy to meet global benchmarks.
All relevant documents and policies are publicly accessible via the university’s websites, such as:
- Personnel Division, Suan Dusit University (Personnel Division – กองบริหารงานบุคคล มหาวิทยาลัยสวนดุสิต)
- Office of Legal Affairs, Suan Dusit University (Office of Legal Affairs, Suan Dusit University)
These public channels reflect SDU’s ongoing commitment to transparency, accountability, and equal access to information for all university members.
Beyond serving as administrative instruments, these mechanisms form the foundation of SDU’s “Culture of Organizational Fairness.” This commitment aligns closely with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs), particularly:
- SDG 5: Gender Equality – promoting fairness, inclusivity, and gender balance in the workplace.
- SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth – ensuring dignified, equitable, and sustainable employment conditions.
Through these initiatives, Suan Dusit University stands as a model of integrity and justice—a university that operates according to the highest standards of governance and human rights, nurturing a working environment built on trust, respect, equality, and the shared pursuit of dignity for all.
